Thank you and the trustees for your great generosity in providing me with a grant. This has enabled me to have an education I would never otherwise have had.
Welcome
The Westminster French Protestant School Foundation is a UK charitable foundation established in 1927 following the closure of the original French Protestant School, which had been founded in 1747 to educate girls from Huguenot families. Today, the Foundation continues its historic mission by providing financial assistance to boys and girls of Huguenot descent who are in financial need and pursuing education in the UK.
Grants are available to help with school fees, educational materials, and further education costs. Applicants must normally demonstrate British nationality, proven Huguenot ancestry, and financial need.
The Foundation preserves the heritage and values of the original French Protestant School, also known as the Blue Coat School, which was located in London’s West End and became known for its strict but caring education under schoolmistress Madame Flecknoe. Alongside its educational support, the Foundation also helps maintain awareness of Huguenot history and heritage in Britain.
